What We Believe
This is, quite obviously, not a full and complete doctrinal statement. Very simply, we believe the Bible is God’s written revelation to man. We believe that it is the inerrant Word of God from Genesis to Revelation. We trust what it says, base our beliefs on it, and recognize it as God’s instruction to us for life and eternity. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 sums it up: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
We have trusted alone in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. We believe that He has saved us based on His promises in His Word and, of course, His death, burial and resurrection. We also believe that the Lord offers to save you, too! Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
We believe that we are not saved by works, but we are saved to do the work God has prepared for us to do because we read in Ephesians 2:10: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
We believe that if you are a born-again believer that God has a work for you to do, too. It must align with His will and His purposes and it certainly includes things He has already revealed in His Word such as holiness, sharing the gospel, and seeking first His kingdom and righteousness (just to name a few). Our life verses remind us to: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
